January-February 2013

Happy New Year! I still don't quite know what that means, but it was being yelled all over the world, apparently. I'm now a few months away from turning 2 years old. I'm learning a lot of things everyday--good and maybe not so good. I'm speaking more and more everyday. Some of my favorite words are, "Merci, Papi/Mami; Sijjy (Silly...<insert a name>); No!; Milky; Stop it, Ayex (Alex)!; and Fun!"
I love to be outside and play with babies. I try to take them everywhere with me now, and it's hard when you have three or more to hold. That's when extra hands from my parents come in handy.

Enjoying the start of my New Year with some new toys. Yeah!

Looking at the plans together with Papi.

Sometimes you just need a good book...

Love my duck bath towel!

Learning about dinosaurs & explaining my baby.

Good times at the beach...putting rocks down the back of my shirt.

October to December 2012

Wow, it's already getting a little chilly and we're starting the party season with my brother's birthday kicking it off, then on to Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and a New Year!

That's me getting the first of many cooking lessons with my dad.

Happy Birthday to my brother. I love birthdays--this cake was yummy!

Love my kitty shirt.

Hi-Ya! Karate Girl for Halloween. :)

It's nice to share every now and then. We like pudding.

At the Skirball Cultural Center, I got a little carried away cleaning up the pretend animal poop from Noah's Ark.

 Happy Thanksgiving to you!

Look, a present with my name on it! Nothing like opening presents after a yummy Christmas meal.

Ready to roll into a New Year! Happy 2013!

August-September 2012

Wow, it was a warm summer. We got to hang out with my dad and different relatives quite a bit during this time. Here's more of what we were up to--I can hang out more now that I am a walker and have about 4 months under my belt. Working on the running now. :)

My brother and I out on the town with our dad in LA.

It's always good to make sure your tools are good to go.

Although she initially declined, my mom was secretly glad I helped empty this cabinet out.

Hanging out in Santa Ynez with friends.

I love when Papi makes grilled chicken. Can you tell?

Attempting to Skype with my cousin, Aurelia.

May-July 2012

It's May, which means I'm about to get out of the "months" stage and start to count in "years." I am going to be 1.

Since I'm not quite one yet, I still am learning a lot of things. Here, my parents let me try to feed yogurt to myself. I mostly made it to my mouth.

Getting ready to celebrate my birthday--here I am reading a nice birthday card from my Auntie Monika.

Getting ready to blow out my candle. What do I wish for at this age?
Hanging out at on a beautiful June summer day.

Enjoying snack time on our camping trip in June-July. It was so fun!
Walking away from Half Dome. Boy, I need a nap.

Yay, getting to go on my first bike ride with my dad. Note to parents: I need my own helmet. Big brother's is too big.

Wow, 11 months old! I got the chance to celebrate my birthday with my Grandma Laura in New Mexico and we had a good time. It was wonderful to meet and spend time with so many people in our family from New Mexico and Arizona. Then, a few days before I turned 11 months, I started to take my first few steps by myself. I no longer needed the comfort of the coffee table, I was on my way! I'm still getting control of the whole balance thing--it's hard when you lean a bit too much one way, cause you fall down! It's exciting to get to walk places and now that I can stand up I can reach more things. So, if you come visit, please put all your drinks and snacks in the middle of the table so I can't spill them. :)
I'm still uttering the same types of words: "Mama, Dah-ee, and Ax" for my family members. I am, however, getting good at gestures and whining loudly til I get what I want. That's just how I roll, for now. :)
That's me at the birthday party for Grandma Laura and myself.
See how I can stand? Right after this I walked away from the camera, too!
For a few minutes, I had some nice braids.
That's me having a snack after working in the yard. It was a hot day!

10 months old--March 2012

Here we are in March and my is the weather looking beautiful! I'm 10 months old now and I'm really starting to get around. I am cruising along furniture and I'm very curious, so you have to watch it when I'm super quiet because you can bet I'm eating something I shouldn't! We had a good time taking some road trips to San Diego and eventually to New Mexico. In between, I kept at my cruising I'm able to take those first independent steps all by myself. This month I even started driving a car with the help of my brother! Check it out:
Dad and I dipping our toes in the cool water near San Diego.
My brother helping me learn to drive. I'm really concentrating!
When he allows me to, I enjoy looking at my brother's motorcycle books.
What did I tell you, I'm cruising?!

Trying to be patient as Grandma Laura makes tortillas.

9 months old--February 2012

Happy Hearts day to you! I'm now 9 months old, and guess what? To the day, I started crawling! Granted, it was backwards, but still, I'm totally getting mobile and into things around the house. Then, two weeks later I began crawling forward!!! Now I'm working on my speed.
I hear my mom speak of gates and wonder if I'll be put outside in the patio? I was kind of scared by that but my brother explained to me that it's actually security gates to keep me safe and out of places I shouldn't be at. I have yet to see this contraption, but for now I'm going to keep exploring and mom will have to continue to watch my mouth.

Proud that I can now crawl out from under the table all by myself!

I'm coming to get you...cause I can crawl forward!

Had a nice picnic at the park after my brother got off of school. I love swinging/dangling.

Was doing my best to help my mom find a recipe so she had an easier time deciding what to cook for dinner.

Now working on standing up on my own....
